This is not a qualification

The documents this site produces are not academic credentials. They are not issued by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any school, college, university or awarding body. They certify no course of study, confer no degree, and evidence no competence in anything.

They are personal keepsakes. Each one names The Failure Pledge as its issuer and grants exactly one thing, which is the holder’s own permission to fail. Presenting one as a real qualification — to an employer, an institution, or anyone else — is a misuse of it and is your responsibility, not ours.

What you may do with your diploma

Print it, keep it, frame it, give it to someone. Use it in a class, a workshop or a talk. You do not need to ask.

What you may not do is resell it, present it as a credential, or reproduce the site’s designs as your own product.

The failure library

Entries about real people are factual accounts drawn from cited sources, which are listed on every entry. Nobody described is affiliated with this site or has endorsed it. Portrait images are used under the licences noted alongside them.

If you believe something here is inaccurate, tell us and point at the evidence. Accuracy is the entire premise of that section, and a correction is a favour.

The public wall — not in effect yet

Being listed is optional and off by default. Do not submit anyone’s name but your own. We may remove any entry, and will remove yours on request, subject to the limits on retracting a syndicated feed described in the privacy policy.

Paid styles — not in effect yet

Paid styles are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Because the product is delivered immediately and is printable at once, refund terms will be set out at checkout, along with the consumer rights that apply where you live.

No warranty

This site is provided as it is. It grants you permission to fail; it does not promise that anything will work out. That was never the claim.
